Leave A Powerful Legacy

What if you made a decision today that could change your hometown forever? By making a planned gift to the Community Foundation of Central Illinois (CFCI), you are contributing to the future of our wonderful local communities and leaving a legacy at the same time.

Inspiring Charitable Giving
CFCI’s Legacy Society is comprised of more than 140 dedicated individuals and couples who share a passion for our mission: connecting people who care with causes that matter. Interested donors become members of the Legacy Society by naming CFCI in their will or other planned giving vehicle, or by establishing a permanent endowment fund. Membership helps broaden understanding and create awareness about key community issues through the sharing of ideas and information with other members, CFCI donors, board members, staff and volunteers.

CFCI considers attorneys, accountants, financial planners, insurance agents and other professionals who have relationships with members of our community to be our valued partners in charitable giving. CFCI serves as a resource to them by providing a full understanding of the many possibilities for supporting our community through the Community Foundation—and by helping their clients achieve philanthropic goals by determining:

  • If they would like to make a gift now or through their estate plan;
  • The type of fund that best meets their charitable giving goals;
  • The type of assets they would like to give; and
  • How they will remain involved after their gift is made

The Legacy Society’s primary goal is to inspire charitable giving and recognize the individuals and organizations making a difference now and in perpetuity. By becoming a member, you can drive positive change in your community and leave a powerful legacy for future generations.

A Renewed Commitment
As we kick off a new year, CFCI is renewing its commitment to the communities we have proudly served since 1985. Since that time, CFCI has granted nearly $100 million to nonprofit organizations, helping to improve the quality of life throughout central Illinois and beyond. Our high professional standards in the investment and management of funds entrusted to CFCI is recognized and accredited by the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations—the highest level of philanthropic excellence.

In the coming weeks and months, you will hear much more about our plans for 2020 and beyond. On behalf of our entire team, thanks to all who have contributed (or are planning to contribute) to CFCI. It is because of you that we are able to fulfill our important service mission and improve the quality of life in central Illinois. PM
